Surprise! One more.

So, I got Skyrim and it's the best game ever made. No Joke. I've played it SO much and have SO much more to do.

But, cause I die without a regular dose of drawing, I drew my character on a break.
She's a High Elf. Cause why not?

Last post of the year (I assume, maybe we'll have more).

Did this page for a contest on Deviant Art in associations with Top Cow. A page for The Darkness comic. Was a lot of fun, actually. Trying out some new techniques I've been working on.

Did this pic (and colored it) for a friend that he's giving to a coworker for Christmas. He wanted his coworker's daughter surfing and his son as a shark. That part was tough. I can't say it is great, but it was the best I could do.

And the other three.

And yes, that's Bruce Willis' Harry from Armageddon on the end. You're welcome.

So I made a few Christmas Cards to send to some editors who've helped me out this year. Here are the first three. I did these with mostly marker. The marker doesn't scan as well as I'd like, so pretend they're 37% better.

B&W for Periodic Heroes - Hulk Week.

223

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been working on two new sets of pages. One I can't share yet, but the other is right here!

Featuring characters from DC's "Red Hood and the Outlaws" my new sample that I'm sending around today:

So, here is the link to go vote for me. My name is in the second box. Click the check mark next to it and then click "vote."

Also, here's the colored versions of the three drawings I did.

Thanks!

And the second post. Miracleman and Superman. For this one, I just did shaded pencils and colored them differently in Photoshop. I'm not 100% sold on how I did it, but the pencils look decent.

For the second week of trying out for The Line is Drawn, I decided to draw two pieces. It ups my chances (if they're both good) and the theme had too many great suggestions.

So, here is the first (the theme was "Team up 2 characters who've never teamed up before" and I had over 300 possible suggestions to draw from): Robin and Hit Girl.

Since I need one more thing to do, I'm trying out for an art segment on a popular comic book newsite. They have a bunch of artists who do a weekly drawing based on reader suggestions. They have three spots open, so I'm trying out. The first week was to Super-fy any person/people (fiction or non). I chose The Addams Family - cause they're awesome.

So, back from Thanksgiving break (and playing some Batman Arkham City), so here's some artstuff. Working on a buncha pages that some I'll be able to show you shortly, some will have to wait a bit until they're published (but it's great to be working on a project that will be).
A website was doing a contest for a redesign of a current superhero (Invincible), and I thought I'd give it a try. Here's the colored version:

The B&W version of my Periodic Heroes post this week. My comic version of Beavis and Butthead.

And last but not least, Agent Smith.
I'll try to remember to post the finished piece (cause, believe it or not, they all fit together to form one image).

Trinity. My fave of the group, I think. It just worked pretty well from inception to execution.

Over on Periodic Heroes this week, we're doing The Matrix. I'm doing six characters from the movies (one each day) and then compiling them into one big piece at the end. Hopefully. Ha!

But, here, I'm going to post the B&W versions (as PH will have full color).

The downside to working on sample pages is that they consume around a week of time but I post them all at once - ha! So, less posts over and longer amount of time.

Here are 5 pages from a Batman story I made up. Was a lot of fun. Hope you like them.

The pencils scanned kinda crappy, so I may rescan before I send them off to editors. We'll see...

So, forgive me for the slowness of the posting for the past bit. I'm working on a 125 page script and writing my thesis at the moment. They both took precedent after NYCC (darn school!). However, I'm working on a new set of Batman pages I hope to post within the week.

In the mean time, the awesome Geoff Shaw, whom I go to school with, posted a cover for a comic he's drawing aptly titled "Hulk vs. Swamp Thing." The darn thing (inside) is gorgeous. I wanted to take a crack at inking him cause his pencils are SO strong, but I've never seen anyone ink him right.

I don't think I did either - ha! But some things turned out nicely. So, here are his pencils and my inks.

It was fun to ink because it was the first thing I've inked with a brush since probably March. Took some getting used to and I wish I could redo certain areas over again, but, ya know, it's okay.

And here are the four, final pieces of my Mucha homage together at last.

206

And the B&W for my last Mucha-inspired Periodic Heroes piece. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter! I'll be working on the colors over the next day or two and post the final piece (all four together) here in a few days.

And I thought I'd post just the B&W version of The Descent.

201

Scary movies. I've seen a LOT of them. And I will continue to. I like to be scared (like this).

The Descent is the scariest movie I've ever seen.
I could talk forever about it, but all I have to say is that it's terrifying. Watch it IN THE DARK (no lights allowed). Just do it. It's GOOD.

200

200 posts. I did it. A bit less than a post everyday, but it's a place to start.

Keeping in with my Halloween pictures, I did a Scream picture. I've loved scary movies and stories since I was a kid - I loved being scared. Scream was one of the first horror movies I saw that I loved - that stuck with me. I saw the movie and absolutely loved it, but didn't own it (then). However, just after seeing it, while I was on this thing called "the internet" I stumbled across the "screenplay" (all newer things to me at the time (some odd 13 years ago)). This was the first script I can remember reading. And it was awesome. It's an amazing script.

And reading that one script made me fall in love with screenwriting (and for those who know me, you can understand how influential this one movie was on me).
Even though the "Ghostface" killer is iconic (now), it wasn't when the movie first came out. What was striking - was the poster - the picture of Drew Barrymore's scared face. So I had to draw that. Fun with a brush pen still.

Aaaaaand another Halloween picture. I actually really like how this turned out. I got an awesome Pentel Pocketbrush for my birthday and have been loving it (and playing around with it). Did this with it.
The glint off the eyelid and eye is my favorite part. I knew it would add an even scarier element of humanity.
