Here is the spine-art for my portfolio right now. Put this together the night before I left for San Diego. I think it sells it pretty well ;)

Here is the regular version of a picture of "Animal Man" I drew for Periodic Heroes. This pic was inverted and then posted on PH.

Okay, post-con catch up begins now!

Well, again, I'm in the middle of a lot of projects this semester, so the completed work often comes in chunks. Here are some designs for the characters of a long-gestating project I hope to finally start drawing in the fall. I'll talk more about the project as it gets closer, but it's a story that's extremely personal and close to my heart. I first had the inkling of it nearly 8 years ago now and have been working on it since then. As far as stories go, it's probably the best I have to offer and could be that way for a long time. Anyways, more about it later, but here's some sketches of the main characters (as they stand right now):

B&W version of last week's Periodic Heroes picture - Disney Characters (and Walt).

It's that time of year again - San Diego Comic Con. And, as I've done for every year I've gone out of the past 12 years, I'm prepping my portfolio (though I feel more confident about my samples than I have in the past 12 years). Here are the pages I'm showing around this time.

They are from Amazing Spider-Man 606, written by Joe Kelly.

Whaddaya think?

Gack(!) - guess we caught up to all my backlogged sketches and what not. Okay, I'll post a few more (and scan a ton). Right now I'm working on a bunch of pages and conceptual art, so it may filter down the line in odd chunks, but I think you'll forgive me.

Here is my last set of pages from American Vampire #4. Mainly they're my last cause I've drawn all but three random pages from this issue. It's been a blast to draw. These last pages were both easy (cause I've been drawing this story for a while) and really hard (the five pages are just two people talking, pretty much). All in all... they're another step forward - ha! In one way or another. I always learn something new everytime I draw a few pages (especially from an actual script).
